Chalet Edelweiss is a large family chalet decorated in an Austrian,
charming style and with a living surface of apx 250m2 and with
south-facing location overlooking the whole Mont Blanc mountain range
just outside the center of Chamonix.
Its Austrian owner designed the chalet, whose husband used to be the
Marie of Chamonix and also the first person to ascend a 8000-meter
peak in Anapurrna in the Himalayas.
Chalet Edelweiss has a very strong alpine / Tyrolean character
with plenty of charm, ornaments, memories of Mr Herzog's mountaineering
adventures and the design is very old-fashion, cosy and welcoming. It
is a fantastic and spacious chalet, perfectly suitable for larger
families and with two master suites allowing plenty of room and comfort.
Layout Chalet Edelweiss:
There are 6 bedrooms in total; 4 bedrooms are located on the ground
level and they all have their private bathrooms and access out to the
front of the house.
The middle floor consists of a large living and dining room with a
beautiful open fire, TV with satellite channels and DVD player and also
cosy sofas and armchairs for relaxing. This floor opens out to the large
traversing sun-balcony with outdoor furniture and offers beautiful
panoramic views if the full Mont Blanc mountain range.
Off the living room is also a quite small but well-equipped kitchen with a small breakfast table.
The
first master suite is located at the end of this floor and has a large
ensuite bathroom with Jacuzzi bath. This suite also accesses the sunny
balcony.
On the top floor is the second master suite with exposed
beams and a library corner. This suite also has a study, a private
sun-terrace and a bathroom ensuite.
Both mastersuites allow plenty of space and storage plus room for relaxation and study.
On the ground floor are the 4 remaining bedrooms located; all of them
slightly smaller but very practial with ensuite bathrooms,
clothes-storage and flatscreen TVs.
They all open out to the parking and one of the bedrooms has a bunk-bed.
Next to the spacious utility area will a new infra-red sauna be installed for the winter 2010-2011.
Chalet Edelweiss has a heated drive way and plenty of parking space.
The ski and boot-room is located just outside the entrance and it has
heated boot-racks for winter rentals and it becomes a golf-room for
summer-time where guests can store their golf equipment neately.
Chalet Edelweiss has an extraordinary location with stunning views as it faces the whole Mont Blanc mountain range!
The village is called Les Nantes and is a very quick and easy
15-minute walk to the center of Chamonix (3 minutes by car) and the
closest ski lifts are only 3 minutes away.
The area of Les Nantes is very peaceful with beautiful surrounding chalets. The closest ski lifts are Brevent and the nursery slopes of Le Savoy.
1h 15 minutes from Geneva airport by car.
