Hip Chalets Booking Conditions and Terms of Payment
Definitions
1. The chalet ('the property') is offered for hire subject to confirmation by Hip Chalets Ltd ('the company') to the renter ('the client').
Reservation
2. To reserve the property the client should complete and sign the contract, return it together with payment of the 20% deposit. On receipt of this, Hip Chalets Ltd will forward a confirmation of the booking.
Booking confirmation
3. The balance of the total cost is payable 8 weeks before the start of the rental period. If payment is not received, the owners reserve the right to give notice in writing that reservation is cancelled. Reservations made within 8 weeks of the start of the rental period require full payment at the time of booking. The client is recommended to arrange comprehensive travel insurance (including cancellation cover).
Flights & Transfers
4. The cost of flights and airport transfers are not included within the quoted prices.
Insurance
5. Your booking does not include travel insurance. We strongly advise that all members of your party have the appropriate travel insurance in place prior to travelling.
Changing Your Booking
6. If you wish to make alterations to your booking after the contract is formed, we will seek to accommodate your request where it is reasonable to do so. Such changes are at the sole discretion of Hip Chalets Ltd .
Cancellation by the client
7. If you choose to cancel your holiday you must do so in writing. The date of cancellation shall be the date the cancellation letter/email is received by Hip Chalets Ltd. The person submitting the booking form must authorise cancellation. Cancellation charges for the accommodation cost will be as follows:

Please note, that if your cancellation falls within your insurance policy terms, you may be able to reclaim these charges.
Cancellation by the owner
8. The owner may in exceptional circumstances be required to cancel the booking in which case a full refund of all monies paid will be made to the client.
Liability
9. (a) In all arrangements involving third parties the company act only as the agent of the client and no liability of any kind whatsoever shall be attached to the company in connection with or arising from such arrangement with a third party and where possible Hip Chalets Ltd will provide evidence of professional qualifications and/or liability insurance from the relevant third parties.
(b) The liability of Hip Chalets Ltd for any claim or claims for direct injury, loss or damage made by the client against Hip Chalets Ltd whether in contract or in tort (excluding negligence or fraud on the part of its staff or agents) arising out of or in connection with any defect in the Services or any act, omission, neglect or default (whether or not the same constitutes a fundamental breach of the Contract or the breach of a fundamental term thereof) of its staff or agents in the performance of the contract (including, without limiting the generality of the foregoing, breach of any condition or warranty whether express or implied by statute, common law or otherwise howsoever) shall be limited to £500,000. Hip Chalets Ltd shall have no liability in respect of damage or loss to the property of the client or any third parties attending an Event.
(c) The client will be responsible for arranging travel insurance to protect against severe weather affecting the accommodation and/or skiing conditions as well as loss of equipment and personal injuries.
(d) If for reasons of ‘force majeure’ the company is unable to deliver any accommodation or service described in the letter of engagement no liability or loss whatsoever shall accrue to the company.
(e) In cases of compensation or damage arising from non-performance or improper performance of the services involved in any of the company’s contracts or packages , compensation for personal, including psychiatric injury and non-personal injury is limited to the by all relevant international conventions including but not limited to the Geneva Convention, the Warsaw Convention and the Athens Convention.
(f) No employee, representative, agent or officer of Hip Chalets Ltd shall be authorised to commit Hip Chalets Ltd to any admission of liability whatsoever and Hip Chalets Ltd shall not be bound by any such admission unless it is explicitly stated in writing and executed on behalf of Hip Chalets Ltd.
