My role in Bouji Lodge

My role in Bouji Lodge - Private chalet chef Nathan Muir

When Julia Bergklint asked me to become part of the furniture in Bouji Lodge I had a feeling of genuine excitement.  My work as a chef has taken me to all parts of the world, and I was thinking that my next move would be working as a private chef in London, or on the super-yachts down in Cannes or Monte Carlo.

I had been working in Chamonix* at a small hotel, turning around its restaurant and dining experience over the past twelve months. I love Chamonix, so I started to look at luxury chalets and whether I could find the right fit with an innovative operator who needed a chef to add some extra spice to the food for their guests. Julia’s vision for Hip Chalets, and Bouji Lodge in particular, struck a real chord with me. Round peg, round hole!

I’ve always revelled in the interaction with clients and guests, something that my role at the 102 Cookery School in Bristol had ignited. Working with a smaller group of people allows me to build a rapport and interaction that you can’t have in other environments.

Christmas week is still available in Bouji Logde, please click here for more details about the chalet.
