Chamonix Opens and Snow is on the Horizon

The doom merchants were put in their place this weekend as Chamonix opened the Grand Montets area with a healthy covering, and a base of nearly a meter in place to build on for the season.

And while there was plenty of buzz about the first weekend in town, it’s the forecast for the coming week that has everyone talking and eagerly watching the webcams!

All looks well for some serious snowfall throughout the coming week, with conservative estimates for at least a meter to fall by Friday.

So far from the slow start predicted by many, we will be seeing some of the best pre-christmas conditions in recent years. The upside to all the gloomy press leading up to the season is minimal crowds in town, this, mixed with some great looking snow predictions makes now the perfect time to book one of our luxury chalets Chamonix for early 2012.
