Perfect Conditions for the Freeride World Tour

As we recently reported, for those who booked an early season visit to one of our luxury ski chalets conditions were excellent with a good amount of early season snow, but things have really stepped up a gear in the last few weeks – we have now had more snow than the entire 2010/11 season. The last week has produced more than a metre, and Chamonix now has the deepest snow base in Europe with 370cm!
Conditions are incredible throughout the valley so it's a perfect time to stay in one of our luxury chalets in Chamonix. And the Freeride World Tour (FWT) event this month (21st-29th Jan) should see an incredible level of competition on Chamonix's unrivalled terrain and bring a real buzz to town...
The FWT has been a fixture on the Chamonix calender for 3 years now and the athletes love coming to the spiritual home of big mountain riding. Expect the crowds to really come alive if local heroes Aurelien Ducroz (Ski) and Xavier De La Rue (S/board) repeat last seasons victories. The event really adds to the atmosphere in town and can make a stay in one of our luxury ski chalets that bit more special. Don't worry about the extra people though – the FWT takes place well outside the normal ski area, and with so many beds taken by the event it's actually a little quieter on the slopes.
We still have some exceptional offers available on our last minute Chamonix deals page, so please have a browse. Currently you can still book the brand new Chalet Le Paradis for only EUR7.000 from the 15th till the 22nd of January, including all linen and house-keeping. Le Paradis is finished to a fantastic standard throughout with a stunning kitchen, heated equipment storage and hot tub, and can accommodate up to 9 guests.
