If you'd like a break from the mountain one day during your stay in one of Hip Chalet's Chamonix ski chalet then the town itself offers plenty of enjoyable diversions. From shops to spas and cafes, the resorts centre is a pleasure to stroll around. Now there is another attraction to pass a happy few hours at. Hooused within one of the oldest buildings in Chamonix is the new museum dedicated to the history and culture of the area.

Just as everyone had thought spring had arrived and temperatures were hitting 29 degrees in the valley, old mother nature has surprised us all again! This afternoon, large flakes started to fall with snow settling on cars, hedges and pavements.
According to the ever-reliable Chamonix Meteo, there is more snow to fall overnight, in fact the rain-snow limit is set to drop towards 900m bringing a further 10 centimetres.
The 2011-2012 season has already broken records in Chamonix with many metres of snow, however, this week we've gone from +29 degrees to just below zero in 48 hours! So for those of you who thought it was too late to enjoy some fresh powder in Chamonix, think again. School holidays are upon us and if you're not out here already we're guessing you will be soon. The only thing to dampen your excitement is the thought of the world and it's mother joining you on your much anticipated ski trip to Chamonix.
It is true, the influx of visitors to Chamonix over the February holiday period is astonishing, many of the hotels and luxury ski chalets in Chamonix have been booked out since last year, but it is still possible to have a fantastic skiing holiday and avoid the worst of the crowds.

The mountains provide a world of entertainment in winter for skiers, snowboarders, walkers and climbers staying in a luxury chalet. Yet this playground, as beautiful as it is, can also be highly dangerous. Chamonix is no different and those up the mountain should take all the suggested equipment and a healthy respect for mother nature when leaving their luxury ski chalet in Chamonix. Even the most experienced of us can be caught out up the mountain with a sudden change in conditions. Be aware, be prepared and be safe.
