Hip Chalets is a company dedicated to providing ski holidays with a stylish twist combined with a standard of service for even the most discerning of customers.

We have been operating in the Chamonix valley (Mont Blanc) since 2006 and with 22 years of experience in the Alps, we have all the inside information to make our guests' stay even more special.

Hip Chalets Ltd. is owned by renowned artist and designer Jamie Strachan – formerly British no1 free ride skier and his wife and former Swedish rock-climbing champion, Julia (nee Bergklint).

What makes a 'hip' chalet?

In a few words, 'hip' can mean stylish, chic, fashionable, well designed or cool. That means us taking time when choosing our chalets so that they fit at least one or all of these conditions.

We don’t settle for anything that lacks the characteristics of a hip chalet. Old or new, our chalets must pass the test!

We have skied in some of the most exotic locations imaginable, from the north island of Hokido in Japan to heli skiing in New Zealand and even first descents in Alaska.

 

But we haven’t found anywhere on the planet that can match the diversity and richness of the European Alps, so we look forward to sharing the secrets and joys of these enchanting and inspiring valleys together with you!
